June 2026 - Vol. 26, No. 12

Summer greetings, everyone! Like potato salad sitting in the hot sun at a picnic, some foods have a ticking clock for quality or safety. While consumers may be accustomed to checking for “best by” dates on food products, are these dates required? We’re cracking the code on date code labeling and sharing important updates on new regulations taking effect on July 1, 2026. We're also sending support for food labeling across the border, with expert guidance on food labeling and regulations for Mexico.

In this issue:

• Decoding Date Code Labeling
• Food Labeler Spotlight
• Keeping You Current

Warmly,

Melissa Grzybowski, President, Food Consulting Company
