Navigating FDA's New Rules for "Healthy"
The revised definition for "healthy" is finally here! FDA’s updated ruling includes requirements for food and beverages that voluntarily include a "healthy" claim - or variations on "healthy," such as "healthful," "healthiest,"or "healthiness." The rule is based on a food or beverage's contribution to designated food groups with restrictions on the use of the claim if certain nutrient levels are exceeded.
